I have been working in the Mental Health field since 2007. I began my career in mental health as a Peer Specialist, Educator and Peer Program Director. I then returned to school to earn a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work. Having this breadth of experience helps me bring a truly person-centered approach to therapy. I have worked with clients with mood disorders, anxiety, autism as well as people who are trying to work through various life changes. Your goals in therapy are my goals. I want to help you to achieve improved quality of life, and become the best version of yourself.
I have a number of therapeutic modalities that I am skilled in including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for Trauma, Written Exposure Therapy and Prolonged Exposure therapy for Trauma. Additionally, I have certifications in treating grief. I use Mind-Body techniques and other more holistic approaches.
I believe the basis of a good therapeutic relationship is collaboration and open communication. Therapeutic work is more successful when a therapeutic relationship is built first. I believe everyone is an individual, and their treatment should be tailored to their needs and preferences. I welcome feedback from my clients, and actively seek it out.
